Shaban Muhammad is a Molecular Bioscience student at Duke Kunshan University, specializing in Genetics and Genomics and pursuing a dual degree with Duke University. His research interests span synthetic biology, systems biology, and genetic engineering, with a focus on understanding and redesigning biological networks for applications in agriculture, health, and biotechnology.

His research experience includes work on artificial protein design, organoid development, plant antiviral defense, zoonotic disease epidemiology, and CRISPR-based functional genomics. He has co-authored five peer-reviewed scientific publications, received the Best Poster in Basic Science award at the 12th Asia-Korea Conference 2024, and played a leading role in Duke Kunshan’s iGEM teams, which earned Silver Medals in the 2024 and 2025 international competitions.
