The CReAtE Lab team gathered for a dinner on February 27th, 2025, to warmly welcome our new members, Cyan Cambell, Thomas Li, and Maria Paz Ormeño, to the lab.

On 22nd January, 2025, The CReAtE Lab hosted a dinner in honor of Professor Hoseok Lee from the IMGN (Plant Immunity & Genomics) group at the Center for Genome Engineering, Institute of Basic Science, Korea, during his visit to Duke Kunshan University, China.

On January 7th, 2025, the CReAtE Lab members gathered for a welcome dinner to warmly receive Dr. Joong-Tak Yoon, who joins us as a postdoctoral researcher.

The CReAtE Lab team arranged a dinner on December 3rd, 2024, to wish our lab member Xinyu Hu the best of luck as she departs for her exchange semester at Duke University.

Dr. Eunyu Kim, CReAtE Lab’s Principal Investigator, was honored with the Award for Overseas Scientists of the Year with a presidential commendation at the 12th Asia-Korea Conference (AKC 2024).

Shaban Muhammad, was awarded Best Poster in Basic Science at the 12th Asia-Korea Conference (AKC 2024) in Shanghai on November 16th, 2024. His work, conducted under the advisorship of Professor Ferdinand Kappes and supervision of Yewei Liu, was part of the DKU Summer Research Scholars (SRS) Program and explored the role of the DEK gene in bone cancer cells using CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing technology.

On September 20, 2024, the Department of Natural Sciences at Wenzhou-Kean University hosted a seminar featuring Prof. Eunyu Kim, Assistant Professor of Biology at Duke Kunshan University.

During the summer of 2024, members of the CReAtE Lab at Duke Kunshan University, Xinyu Hu and Seonui Jeong, conducted research at the Center for Genome Engineering, Institute of Basic Science (CGE-IBS) in Korea.

Mengwei Cheng joined our lab on August 1st, 2023 as Research Fellow in Biology. Her main job responsibilities are working as an independent researcher to complete molecular experiments, data analyses, report writing and fund management.

Heng Chen joined our lab on December 1, 2022 as Research Fellow in Biology. His main job responsibilities are working as an independent researcher to complete molecular experiments, data analyses, report writing and fund management. He will also work as a research coordinator to communicate with research partners. Previously, He worked at National Institute of Biological Sciences, Beijing from July to November in 2022 as Research Assistant.
