CReAtE Lab Farewell Dinner for Tommy & Xinyu and Welcome to New Members

On May 1st, 2026, the CReAtE Lab family gathered for a special evening to honor our graduating seniors and welcome the newest additions to our research community!

The dinner served as a heartfelt farewell to Tommy Li and Xinyu Hu. As they prepare to move on to their respective graduate programs at Imperial College London and the University of Nevada, Reno, we took this time to celebrate their incredible undergraduate journeys at DKU and their lasting contributions to the lab. While we are sad to see them go, we are immensely proud of their achievements and excited for their next chapters.

The evening was also a time for new beginnings as we officially welcomed our newest lab members: Matyas Syptak, Yuntian Lu, and Minghua. Matyas joins our Yeast Wing, while Yuntian brings her expertise to the Gut Wing. We are thrilled to have their fresh perspectives and energy as our team continues to grow and explore new frontiers in synthetic biology and agricultural engineering.

A big thank you to Professor Eunyu Kim, Dr. Joong-Tak Yoon, and all lab members for attending and making this celebration so memorable.

To Tommy and Xinyu: thank you for everything, and you will always have a home here at CReAtE. To Matyas, Yuntian, and Minghua: welcome to the team! 🥂✨
